and they call it CHENNAI MANAGARAM

I am one of those who have LOVE HATE relationship with Chennai

Rewinding back 6 months, she just slipped in the airport with all her luggages just to discover there were ten people staring at her so badly ;) I mean

they did help her to pick her stuff up... and then the ride oops JOY ride starts

Few things i totally hate about Chennai aka Chennai Managaram

1. Autowalaaaaaas - never mess with this guy and never trust this guy...keep more than required money with you else you are in trouble
2. Crowd - No you wont like the crowd i mean never like the crowd if you are from Delhi or Bombay
3. Vegetable Markets - Don't dare to touch the vegetables NEVER
4. Weather - This is one hypocrite... you hate it but at the same time you will love it

Few things that i like about chennai

1. Jasmine flowers - how can i live without these
2. Temples - serene is the feeling and the prasadham given is the best :)
3. Cream buns - hehe if you have your taste buds active then you wont miss this stuff
4. Electric train - standing near the running train and enjoying the chennai breeze is something peculiar here in chennai
5. saree and jewellery shops - the mere feeling of just seeing the sarees and jewellery brings you the joy
6. Chennai without movies.... nah nah ... how would you ever not yell at a rajini sir's movie :)
7. Jackfruit - you wont find this stuff ever elsewhr... its just yummy
8.Beach - a jog in the beach and a nice gup shup with family and friends in the beach -- trust me these are warm currents that sooth your ankles even during night :) i like the beach visits

so when someone asks you next time, why you love chennai ? you can say these :) contradicting experiences

YeS... I SeE tHe LiGht At ThE EnD oF ThE TuNnEl :)

These are my last few days in Canada... I admit it I am emotional and not feeling like leaving this amazing country... Thanks for anything and everything...

Hopes are still alive...Past is beautiful...Memories will last a lifetime...Future is all vague...I feel like a traveler going on an adventure....in search of my dreams...

Oh snow covered trees I owe you
Oh Canadian Maple I owe you
Oh Putine I owe you
Oh Patios I owe you
Oh Ice Skating Ring I owe you
Oh Lake Ontario I owe you
Oh Tim I owe you

Something tells me "My Memories are canadianized and Oh Canada, we got to meet again FOR SURE :)"...

I am just reading the lyrics of this song and watching this song at the patio of my house...Indeed I know this moment is locked in my memory :)

aye saala
Dude ...

abhi abhi huaa yakeen
ki aag hai mujh mein kahi
hui subaah main jal gaya
suraj ko main nigal gaya
roo-ba-roo roshni
roobaroo roshni hai

Just now I did believe
that I have a fire inside me somewhere
It's a new morning and I am aflame
I just swallowed (overpowered) the sun
I'm face to face with light

jo gumshuda, sa khwaab tha
woh mil gaya woh khil gaya
who loha tha pighal gaya
khincha khincha machal gaya
sitaar mein badal gaya
roobaroo, roshni
roobaroo, roshni hai..

the dream that was lost
it's found, and it's blossoming
It was (solid) iron, but now it has melted,
it's stretched, and has become stubborn
it has transformed into a sitar
I'm face to face with light

dhuaan chhanta khula gagan mera
nayi dagar naya safar mera
jo ban sake tu hamsafar mera
nazar mila zara

The fog has cleared and my sky is open now
I have a new path and new journey to start
If you can be my traveling companion
see me in the eye..

aandhiyon se jhagad rahi hai lau meri
ab mashaalon si badh rahi hai lau meri
naamo nishaan rahe na rahe
ye karavaan rahe na rahe
ujaale mein pee gaya
roshan hua jee gaya
kyon sehte rahe
roobaru roshni
rubaru, roshni hai..

My flame is fighting with storms
My flame is now moving ahead like bright torches
I don't care if I disappear without a trace
I care not whether this caravan exists or not
I have drank in the lights
I am radiant and alive
Why keep suffering?
I'm face to face with light.

dhuaan chhataa khula gagan mera
nayi dagar naya safar mera
jo ban sake tu hamsafar mera
nazar mila zara

The Beauty of Beauty: An Aesthetic Journey Into The Ramayana

Off late I have started reading Ramayana and trying to understand the applications of the same to one's day to day life and management ... Being a fan of Hanuman :) (The god who depicts this mind) I loved the narration of sundarakandam by Vishaka Hari (I have attended her husband's events in Delhi, never knew she is so good at story telling) as well as by one of the articles that I had been reading...Happy to know that this world (and internet) is full of beautiful resources

Reference : http://www.exoticindiaart.com/article/sundarakanda/

"Sita seemed to scorch the nearby vegetation with her deep sighs. Her beauty, now only faintly discernible, resembled a fire clouded by smoke. She was clad in a single yellow garment, resembling a pond without lotuses. Abashed and disconsolate, she was like the doe cut off from her herd and surrounded by a pack of hounds. Her hair was formed into a single braid (ek-veni), falling like a black serpent on her back. Seated on the ground like a branch fallen from a tree, she resembled a blurred memory or a fortune lost, a faith betrayed or a hope dashed, like a reputation lost due to false rumor."

‘Looking here and there like a delicate fawn, Sita was barely discernible, like a Vedic text once learned by heart but now nearly lost through the lack of recitation. It was only with great difficulty that Hanuman was able to recognize her, because she was like a word whose meaning has changed due to inapt usage. Even then, keeping her faith, the firm lady looked no more agitated than the river Ganga, which however heavy the rainfall, never floods.’

‘Weighed down by grief, Sita was like a ship at sea burdened by heavy cargo. She resembled a star, whose positive karma now exhausted, had fallen down from heaven to the earth. Lacking in all ornaments, she was adorned only by the love for her husband. In the absence of her lord, she was rendered mute like an untouched vina.’

Our bollywood movies (Swades) have definitely emulated the above feelings in songs : courtesy A.R.Rahman

Indeed the feeling is "SERENE" :)
